Driving to Fethiye, which is only 25kms southeast of Dalaman, shouldn't be overlooked. Swimming off its pristine beaches and visiting the hillside Lycian Tombs are a must. Also, 40 minutes' drive to the west near Dalyan are outdoor mud baths that will delight health-minded tourists.
Best Time To Visit
The summer months of June, July and August are extremely hot, averaging about 33°C. Visitors may find this somewhat uncomfortable, so holidaying in April, May and September is a far better option. Temperatures still hover in the high 20s (C) during these months, so enjoying a beach holiday in the region is very realistic.
