Excellent - the website had been sluggish and repeated attempts to make the same booking resulted in 3 bookings. But the team quickly confirmed they had cancelled two, and the actual booking all worked fine once we got to Orlando.

We have used 121carhire once

We have used 121carhire once before and it was an okay and non-challenging experience but for another leg of this trip, we tried another rental entity and another car rental entity (Avis) and actually had a better experience (and better pricing) so will continue to look at this site because it did serve us well, but now a more competitive brand (for us) is beginning to emerge.

Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

Driving

The city and its surroundings are large, and there is a vast road network. Most attractions are situated well away from the town, including Disney World, and fuel is very affordable. Roads are wide, and in good condition, though the main routes are tolled, so getting an E-Pass or a Sun Pass is recommended. The bustling International Drive gets very busy but is well worth driving through and stopping at some of the attractions.

Things To See and Do

Walt Disney World is around half an hour drive west with car hire in Orlando, and is the area's main attraction, with a vast complement of family activities, including the Epcot Center. The Kennedy Space Center is a little farther east, but within an hour's drive, while Orlando is surrounded by lakes and nature parks. Avoid driving in downtown Orlando.

Central Florida has a mild climate with a year-round average temperature of 23°C. Spring is the best time to visit, with dry weather and average temperatures of 27°C. Summer starts in mid-June, while hurricane season is from around August to late October.
